Brigitte Boccone-Pagès has devoted her entire professional career to serving the Monegasque State. A teacher throughout her career in the Monegasque National Education System and involved in numerous associations, she became involved in politics in 2001. Deeply committed to the support and development of young people, she was appointed Chair of the National Council's Education and Youth Commission in 2003. Re-elected in 2008 and again in 2018, Brigitte Boccone-Pagès was first appointed Chair of the Commission for Social Interests and Miscellaneous Affairs and then elected Vice-Chair of the National Council. On 20 December 2020, Brigitte Boccone-Pagès was awarded the medal of Chevalier in the Order of the Legion of Honour by H.E. Mr Laurent Stéfanini, the French Ambassador to Monaco, in the presence of H.R.H. Prince Albert II and numerous Monegasque and French personalities. On 6 October 2022, following the departure of President Stéphane Valeri, Brigitte Boccone-Pagès was unanimously elected to become the first woman in Monaco's history to chair the National Council. Leader of the "Monegasque National Union" list, she was elected with all her running mates on 5 February 2023 and appointed President of the National Council by her peers on 16 February 2023.
