A Member of Parliament for the Ambatofinandrahana constituency since 2013, she was elected President of the Malagasy National Assembly from February to May 2014 and unanimously re-elected to the same post on 16 July 2019.
Her election as President of Madagascar's National Assembly marked a milestone in the country's political history, making her the first woman to hold the post.
